Description
The poem was written by my husband's mother who passed away three years ago at the age of 95. Recently, he came across this poem - and this is a small tribute that I made to her. She passed away before my husband and I met, but I still feel a great deal of respect for her and her dedication to her family. The jewels she speaks about are her children. She had her daughter and sons' names listed along with their birthstone below the poem.

Thank you for all of your kind comments. This is a personal favorite of mine. To me the poem refers to a mother's love for her children and recognizing the things in life that are the most important.
